A simple and general definition of leadership includes the capacity to influence, inspire, rally, direct, encourage, motivate, induce move and activate others to achieve a common goal or a purpose while maintaining commitment, momentum, confidence and courage.
An important ingredient of leadership function is the ability to draw the best out from others and inspire them to maximize their potential and become who they really are.
Now let’s look at the qualities of a good leader.

Humility is the ability to be yourself; it is not degrading or reducing of oneself to the estimation of others but rather the awareness, acceptance and appreciation of one’s true worth and value.
If you have to say your humble you are not but it is a prove that you are proud. Humility is the result of character that is a result of God’s love and mercy in your life. When you realize what God has done for you there is no way you can think of yourself being higher that another because what God has done for you he will do it for me.
A humble leader is willing to take up a job nobody wants, if anything needs to be done a leader with humility will step in and do it, he will do it with joy and as best as he can because he understands the importance of that job getting done.
Sense of Humor
You must cultivate a strong sense of humor which is the ability to laugh in life and not to take life too seriously. Humor is an asset to a leader and helps in maintaining a proper perspective in life
With a healthy sense of humor leaders can transform tense situation into a positive environment and create on an atmosphere of understanding.
Listen to this, a merry heart is a good medicine but a crush and broken spirit causes dryness of the bone. A good leader must cultivate a strong sense of humor.
You must cultivate the quality of tact and diplomacy, you must poses the quality of communicating your taught without causing offences. A man with knowledge uses words with restraint but a man with understanding is even tempered. Restraint means that, you may want to express your displeasure in no uncertain terms, but you don’t, someone might deserve it but a wise and knowledgeable man won’t do it even if he feels like it.
To become and effective leader, you must be able to conduct delegate negotiations and matters in a way that enhances mutual rights and yet leads to a harmonious solution. Leaders know that the key to having influence with others is when other know that they have influence with you.
You must be able to inspire others, the ability to inspire others is to serve, and serve is a mark of a good leader. Inspiration is the ability to mobilize, activate, motivate, stimulate and cause others by their own character and zeal for a passionate vision to participate in the change of their parity is encourages others to keep moving .
You must possess a guiding vision, there is something you alone can see but others cannot see. visioners are those who is not satisfied with what is happening but who are interested in what is going to happen and how they can make it happen.
A vision is a view of the glimpse of your purpose in life, vision is like a finished product that you are about to produce, vision is the source of discipline and self-motivation.
This is sometimes called wisdom. Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge effectively, is consist of knowledge descendment, comprehension, insight, hindsight and foresight. Wisdom protects knowledge from abuse, there source of wisdom is God therefore, leaders must have a good dynamic relationship with the source of wisdom and contact with him daily.
You must possess the quality of being rightly angry at evil. Leaders who have discovered their generation did so only after they were angry at injustice and abuse among men. Compassion is said to be a product of anger against what hurts humanity. You have got to hate wrong doings, hate it so much that when you see it, it makes you mad.
You must be decisive, discoing maker, let your yes be yes and your no be no, anything more than that is evil. A leader must be willing to be decisive, because he knows that indecision is a discussion not to decide.
